This is a very old movie. One of the most enduring romances in film history. I have seen it many times; it is unforgettable.
Casablanca is an American romantic drama film set in Casablanca, Morocco, during World War II. The main characters are Rick Blaine, Ilsa Lund, and Victor László. The story follows the love dilemma of a cynical American café owner who is forced to choose between his old love and the noble cause of fighting the Nazis. Casablanca is set in Casablanca, North Africa, which was the last refuge for immigrants during World War II under German occupation. The main character, Rick, is a bar owner who distributes fake papers to immigrants coming to America, but when his old love approaches him with another man to ask for his help, Rick finds himself in a difficult situation. The work is a drama of patriotism and love, a long-standing conflict between ourselves and the public interest, which was elevated to the ranks of classics by the performances of Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid, and the direction of Hungarian-born Michael Curtiz.
An excellent story, excellent actors, excellent direction, excellent music, iconic characters, catchy phrases, and dialogue. What more do you need for a great movie?
