Potential Noob question but is there ever a reason to use a tent over a tarp?
Basically the title, i genuinely can't see a reason why a tarp isnt just straight up better assuming you're not on mount everest or doing some really extreme stuff, am i right on this or am I just missing something? They're cheaper, lighter and more versatile, also can be put up with trekking poles most of the time so no need for extra equipment tarps just have a bit of a learning curve comparatively but once you get that down I'm struggling to see why youd ever need a tent
