Wife's 1st Camp - FL Everglades December My wife and I…

Wife's 1st Camp - FL Everglades December

My wife and I (both 38 and active) are going camping for the first time together in December to watch the Geminid Meteor Shower from a chickee in the Everglades. What should we bring /what tips do you have to help make this 2 night camp enjoyable?

We live in FL, we know how to handle mosquitoes/ noseeums, we will have our own boat / kayaks with us. I've previously solo kayak hammock camped 3-5 days in the Everglades but it's been over 10 years so my memory is fuzzy on tips and tricks. Another hurdle... we fly back from a work trip in Philly Friday night around 10pm and need to leave our house by noon the next day to be at the launch site so we want as much prepped as possible before we leave town on Monday that week. We'll basically preload the boat the weekend before the trip.

Gear currently:

\- Tent is a Marmot Tungsten Tent: 3-Person 3-Season with Noseeum tight mesh (will test before trip)

\- Sleeping pad Captain Comfort Deluxe Camp Mattress with 2 Fillo king pillows, we have sufficient sleeping bags / misc blankets.

\- Chair Low Loveseat Camp Chair in addition to 2 ENO hammocks. The loveseat is new, any thoughts on individual chairs vs loveseats? We are rare, and enjoy cuddling but this would be our only "chair" if we bring it.

\- Table Foldable pop up 28x28 coffee table, the chickee is also setup with bar height counters where we can place a stove top.

\- Cooking, I have a portable single propane eye that sits on top of the tank with a 6" pot/pan setup (should i bring a larger pan? Will actually be feeding 4 adults 4 in total). Should I consider upgrading to a dual eye stove top? Our plan is to have everything precooked or prepared in advance and just need to reheat it if anything. Again we have no time to cook or prep 24-48hrs before the trip, only about 4hrs the morning we depart (plan is to stop at Publix or whole foods for subs, precooked ingredients for Fajita bowls / tacos, fruit and snacks for breakfast. Might blacken some redfish if we have luck to add to fajita bowls.

\- Mosquito defense is already sufficient.

\- Misc. 20,000ma battery backup, speaker, headlamps, Camp lamp, clothing for trip conditions, cards, favorite cups, emergency kit from the boat.

A couple items I know I need input on.
What kind of personal items / hygiene items do you find essential for trips like this where a freshwater rinse is not likely possible? Might bring a 5 gallon portable shower bag for a fresh rinse off. But specifically tips for avoiding that dried out salt feeling on your hands.

O there is also a porta Potty. While they are normally tollerable, any ideas for ensuring a clean porta potty? Maybe bring our own cleaning supplies to clean it upon arrival? Air freshener? Didn't think about this till now.

During the day the guys will take th boat fishing and the girls will take the kayaks out. We are all comfortable doing this and have safety alerts and GPS tracking.
