How to fix stripped mounting threads on a plastic gaming steering wheel ?
Hey everyone,
I need some advice on repairing the bottom mounting holes of my Logitech G29 racing wheel. The wheel needs to be bolted down tightly to my simulator platform, but the threaded holes on the bottom of the wheel itself have stripped out, so the screws just spin and the wheel comes loose while playing.
* **The Problem:** The internal threads in the wheel's base are worn out. * **The Goal:** I want to unmount it, fix the holes, and bolt it back down securely through my platform.
Since this device takes a lot of force/torque during gameplay, what is the best permanent fix? Should I use brass threaded inserts (heat-set), a thread repair kit like Helicoil, or step up to a larger screw size?
