Nadine Franklin is an awkward and sarcastic high school junior who feels like she doesn’t fit in. She has always struggled socially and relies heavily on her best friend, Krista. Her world turns upside down when Krista starts dating her older brother, Darian. Nadine feels betrayed and completely alone. She begins acting out and making impulsive decisions. She develops a crush on a quiet classmate and awkwardly tries to get his attention. Her attempts at romance lead to embarrassing situations.
