Hardie plank repurpose as stairs - how to plug screw holes?
Hey everyone, we're redoing our deck because that thing was basically built by the first little pig (made of sticks). The hardie plank decking is in pretty decent shape and we'd like to repurpose it as stairs rather than throwing it away. We're doing completely new decking because the slumping joists made a low spot and some of the boards are discoloured and I can't clean them off.
Of course the screw holes are not spaced properly for our intended stair width, is there a product out there that would be a good plug for them? I think I may have figured out a way to cut the boards to avoid most of the original holes, but I want to be prepared.
