Hi all - are my expectations for waterproofing too high? Or do I have poor technique / just a crap old tent?
I recently slept outside in my backyard (rural Indiana) in a cheap tent that's 15+ years old, I believe the material is polyester. There was no rain that night, only dew. I did not put the fly on because I wanted to see the stars. When I woke up, the inside walls of the tent were wet, and there was a very small pool of water inside the tent.
Although the tent is old, it had only been used outside once before. Prior to sleeping in it, I had treated the seams with seamsealer and a waterproofing spray. Maybe I did not use proper technique? Or maybe I just need a new tent :) #camping #activity source
