How difficult is it to hammer out a thin bronze ingot into sheets?
I like history, I like making things, and I like fantasy. I absolutely love bronzes, aluminum and tin specifically, but I was thinking of making a Roman suit of armor out of primarily tin bronze for renfest and such whenever I find time to work on it.
I have experience in casting bronze, but less so cold working bronze. So I wanted to ask, how difficult is it to start off with a large, thin (maybe 1/8”?) ingot of tin bronze and hammer it into a larger, thinner sheet?
Also I have no intentions on hammering aluminum bronze. I’ve tried in the past and all I gotta say about that is hell no. #industry
