On Saturday Jeff Kight and I won the big prize in the 2026 Member Member Horserace. We were in the top flight and we battled through four holes against the best of the best. I stood over the winning putt and thought "If I make this we win it all". I made it. The event organizers came up to me and said "Congratulations, now you have to beat the winners of the other two flights." What?!
We proceeded to the 17th hole where we were greeted by hundreds of spectators. Gulp. Fortunately the winners of the other flights weren't what you would call young. They were what you might call the walking dead. The hole requires hitting the ball over about 150 meters of water. I told Jeff "We got this, these grandpas won't be able to get over the water." Sure enough, it was a scene from Tin Cup. They hit the water over and over and over. We won the hole by five strokes. 🏆 $1,500 prize and into the pages of history.

My partner hits the ball a mile. He was recruited to play golf at TCU because in high school he made it to the Junior Amateur Championship and all the college recruiters were there to watch the opponent he was playing against. A guy by the name of Tiger Woods.
