TL;DR: If NASA created a spacecraft with infinitely-renewable rocket fuel and perfected long-term hibernation, and if the events of Ragnarok were postponed, could NASA send someone to Asgard?
We've seen in Thor: Ragnarok that Asgard can be travelled to (or at least from) by means of spacecraft. I have pre-exisiting knowledge of where Asgard, Midgard and the other 7 branches of Yggdrasil are to one another, but are they each their own facets of reality, or is Asgard a plausible hypothetical objective for NASA? My question would probably be answered by knowing whether Midgard is limited to the planet Earth (which already seems to be a distinguished in Norse folklore by means of the goddess Jörð, from which we get the name 'Earth'), or if Midgard is a dimension in which Earth and the rest of the observable universe exist, or somewhere in between where Midgard extends to a certain spatial boundary within the observable universe (like maybe Midgard is just the Milky Way galaxy?).
If Midgard is a dimensional abstraction, then is the Marvel Cinematic Universe (in contrast to the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse) all on Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life? Is the place where Tony got a moon "thrown" at him on one of the other branches? Are the spacecraft in which Peter Quill et al. travel capable of extra-dimensional travel? #movies #video source
