Smart plug advice

Hello. I've never used any type of smart plug so I would like some input if it will work for my use case. I have powered speakers for my computer. I would like for them to turn off when my computer goes to sleep or is shut down. Will a smart plug with an app on the computer achieve this? Thanks.
