I mean, we've all seen the character of Martin Riggs who is a suicidal police detective. But he still has the will to do the right thing. And because he's suicidal, he becomes fearless, although a bit reckless. For example, you can clearly see it in this great deleted scene from the first movie - https://youtu.be/bvAvNfCbQJk?si=xyaU0kaXbjjKWdiv
And I've been wondering, are there any horror movies with similar characters or plots? I imagine a plot where this is some paranormal evil creature that kills people, people are afraid, and people are running from it. But then there's this one guy who's just so tired of living that he just doesn't give a shit. He just wants to end this thing and lay down to rest. He doesn't fear. He isn't scared of the dark. He's not scared of any paranormal things. And he just fights back for some reason. Are there any horror movies like this?
Alternatively, are there horror movies with “I’m not locked in here with you, you’re locked in here with me” kind of plot?
I imagine the ending of 1408 where John Cusack says the phrase "Never kill more than you can eat". I imagine a plot where a deathly creature wanted to haunt a house, but then it quickly learned that there were John Wick, Chuck Norris, and Keith Richards chilling out in that house. And the thing said "Nope, I'm outta here." I imagine a film where an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. Like Anton Chigurh met unexpected resistance to his "Where does he work?" question.
