Opinion: Bucky should have been the new Captain America
I feel like the Marvel heads were like:
* *"How can Bucky be Captain America? He's killed so many people!"*
* *"Sam has been loyal by his side all these years."*
* *"Steve can't make Bucky Captain America just because he's his best friend."*
But to me, that sounds like a really interesting plot for a really interesting movie.
Imagine Captain America 4 was about:
* The political consequences of an ex-Hydra assassin being the new Captain America
* The inner struggle of Bucky of whether he deserves this and trying to move on from his past
* The legacy of Steve, and how much he actually valued country over his personal connections
* Tensions within the Avengers with their ability to accept Tony’s parents’ killer as part of their team
