After replaying all the Spider-Man games back to back, I realized **Spider-Man 2 gets a lot right, but Spider-Man 3 really needs to improve in a few key areas.**
Traversal? Amazing. Web swinging in SM2 is honestly incredible, and the only thing I could even think of adding would maybe be **two-handed web swinging** for even more style/immersion.
But **combat and story need a serious upgrade.**
Combat starts feeling repetitive, especially on higher difficulties. Too many fights become **spamming square, dodging/parrying, abilities, repeat.** Spider-Man is supposed to be insanely strong and hyper-acrobatic, but in combat he often feels weirdly **stiff and floaty**, which just doesn’t fit the character.
Story-wise, SM2 was good, but the **symbiote arc felt way too rushed**, and honestly **Venom was a completely wasted antagonist**, which still annoys me. That’s one of Spider-Man’s most iconic villains, and he deserved way more buildup and screentime.
SM3 has insane potential if they build on what already works and really evolve those areas.
