Recreating Rembrandtβs Portrait of Johannes Wtenbogaert felt almost like stepping through the canvas and into another century. π€π¨
I could feel the stillness of the pose, the weight of the dark clothing, and the quiet presence captured in the portrait. The soft play of light across the face made me pause again and again, noticing details I might have overlooked before. β¨
Even though the pose is not quite the same, and using a modern outfit to recreate a nearly 400-year-old portrait made the experience feel surprisingly intimate and surreal. It was like bringing Rembrandtβs world into the present and seeing how a timeless portrait could still speak through a completely different era.
I felt humbled, fascinated, and completely immersed. For those moments, it wasnβt just a painting I was recreating, I was feeling my way into it. And that was truly magical. π€β¨
