Long rant warning!!
Me and my friends had long talk about the MCU that I loved and I want to share with the world
If the MCU decides to reboot after Doomsday, I think the first movie NEEDS to be a Hulk movie. There is 0 reason why Hulk hasn’t had a standalone live action show or movie related to the MCU since 2008, he has had 3 movies, none related to eachother while spiderman has had 2 trilogies and is about to get a tetralogy which is a load of bullshit. All of Hulks villains were ripped from him while we get this sorry ass excuse of a Hulk with smart Hulk which isn’t even done right because its not even Hulk, its just Bruce Banner roleplaying.
They took away multiple HUGE personalities from Hulk and that is his individuality and ANGER. HULK AND BRUCE BANNER AREN’T THE SAME, STOP TRYING TO MAKE IT THAT WAY. The only time we had a glimmer of this was when Hulk refused to come out for Bruce which made me so happy. The reason we should start with a Hulk movie besides the fact Hulk fans have been denied one for 18 years (which is a full graduated adult btw), none of them were even close to the level of any spiderman ones, and Hulk is IMO the second most popular marvel hero and top 10 most popular hero oat.
Having a Hulk movie start your reboot can setup for so much, you have him start with his abuse and continue it on to his internal conflict which could give us maestro as the first villain or absorbing man (save red for the second or third). You have Hulk and Bruce clash with eachother creating Hulk as a threat which then setups for The first avengers moving being stop the Hulk and potentially give us AN ACTUAL GOOD LEADER. All of Hulks villains or people who would’ve been peak cinema for him to fight have been stripped from him, Red,leader, absorbing man, the rhino, the thing, and juggernaut. Might be asking for too much but an immortal hulk would be dope but I think it would conflict a cinematic universe too much so I wouldn’t bet on it.
To end this rant off I want to make a wishlist of important things that I think need to be added to make a good first impression Hulk movie
1: His abusive father:his entire reason for his trauma and depression)
2: Internal conflict: Iwant Hulk and Bruce to constantly clash together, this should be there figuring out phase and Hulk should be constantly going rouge
3: Less Bruce, more Hulk:I want Hulk to be taking control more and to be uncontrollable this movie for Bruce)
4:MORE ANGER: I need to see some RAGEEE in this movie from Hulk,I need to see him get BIG, GET ANGRY, AND GET FURIOUS
5:Treat this like Tom Holland Spiderman: This sounds crazy but let me explain, Tom hollands spiderman was treated like the golden boy and face of the MCU which is understandable. Hulk is the second most popular Marvel character and should get the same level of treatment
6: No more Ruffalo: Mark Ruffalos Hulk is rough(oun intended), it just isnt that good(ESPECIALLY SMART HULK), even before smart hulk it was kind of mid, and his Bruce Banner isn’t all that either, ESPECIALLY SINCE HE HAS 0 SUBSTANCE WHATSOVER BECAUSE HE HAS BARELT ANY MOVIESSS.
7:There should be no major villain deaths: One issue the MCU had was killing off villains leaving there to be NOTHING later on for anybody to fight. This Hulk movie should not conclude with the death of a villain. There are many other ways to defeat a villain without killing them. This can create SO MANNY NEW STORYLINES. Imagine if ultron was still alive and not killed off in ONE MOVIE. Ultron deserved multiple movies but thats a seperate rant.
