There’s something about old buildings that makes me stop.
Not the polished ones.
The ones with faded shutters, stained stone, uneven rooftops and little scars left by weather, winters and time.
I photographed this in Pontarlier, France , because it felt wonderfully lived in . Nothing pretending to be new. Nothing trying too hard to be beautiful.
And yet… look at it. 🤎
Windows that have watched decades pass. Shutters opened on ordinary mornings and pulled closed again at night. Chimneys that must have known a thousand cold French winters.
Sometimes age doesn’t take the beauty away.
Sometimes age is the beauty.
