How do small machine shops track job progress?
Curious how other small machine shops track jobs on the floor.
We currently use a mix of paper, Excel, and asking around, but it gets difficult when multiple jobs are running.
How do you track:
Where a job is currently?
Which machine it is on?
What stage it is in (setup, running, inspection, etc.)?
Do you use ERP/MRP, MES, whiteboards, spreadsheets, or something else?
If you use software, what are you using and what does it cost per month?
Looking for simple solutions that actually work on the shop floor. Thanks.
