Solution for water exiting a downspout in the winter Hey…

Solution for water exiting a downspout in the winter

Hey all, I’ve got an issue where several downspouts let water out onto the driveway and with how the driveway is pitched, the water freezes and turns the driveway into a skating rink.

Was trying to come up with creative ways to solve for this. Has anyone tried the following: creating a box that can be filled with ice melt that attaches to the downspout then on the other end of the box is one of those flexible downspouts to lead the water somewhere else. That way, the water coming out of the downspout hits the ice melt and is salty (less likely to freeze) and is able to travel out the flexible portion without refreezing.

The main challenge with using just the flexible piece is that in the current cold, water would get there and just freeze up the flexible portion before it can come out the other side.

Thoughts?
