Avid camper, just making sure this dumb rule is saying that I think it is...
I live near a large national forest, and there are roads with primitive campsites along them that are marked as such. There is a "act" that prohibits camping within 1,000 feet of any public road (obviously unless marked as a campsite).
The next line says, "**Camping is prohibited in any area not designated as a campsite depicted on the attached map**", and I'm wondering does this mean I cannot walk 1,050 feet into the woods from a public road and setup camp?
If that's the case, this goes against the popular statement that 'you can camp nearly anywhere in a national forest'.
Why state that I can't camp within 1,000 feet of a road if I can't camp anywhere that isn't already marked as a campsite anyway? #activity #camping
