Personal Thoughts
Sorry i’m probably going to regurgitate things that have been said/mentioned many times already. I have no IRL friends that are as into Marvel so I just need to air my thoughts lol.
I tend to be very easy to please when it comes to Marvel and the Disney + show era and am constantly saying “oh this is definitely my favourite show” etc. (Except Secret Invasion, that was trash)
However, this has genuinely been my favourite production from Disney+ and Marvel. Stepping back and looking at it for what it is, this show kept itself to a contained and well planned story in the marvel universe.
I’m not trying to say it was perfect, there are definitely questions and things I felt were set up and then left unanswered (Rio and Agatha history, Darkhold history etc) but that doesn’t take away from what this show managed to do very successfully IMO.
The production and use of mostly practical sets / visuals really elevated the story to a level that Marvel had been missing as of late.
I think the real winning factor for me here was the casting, marvels always had a good track record for casting but I genuinely think that this show could not have cast anyone else for any of the roles and it still have worked the way it did.
As corny as it sounds, this show really just feels like it was made for me (A gay Millennial) and I can’t get over the way it’s made me feel for the past 7 weeks.
Huge thank you to Marvel/Disney and Jac shaffer, as well as every cast member, production and crew member. Anyone who had a hand in creating this experience, thank you for bringing a beautifully crafted story to my screen 🖤
There are so many incredible scenes that it’s impossible to pick one favourite moment so here are my top 3:
1. Aubrey’s delivery of the line “ Congratulations my love! Sorry I didn’t have a ribbon for you to run through” I’ve watched that scene 12 times at least
2. Joe Locke’s delivery of the line
“ Agatha, am I killing this boy so my brother can live?” Heart cracked 😭
3. Literally every single Kathryn Hahn moment as Agatha, to play a character that knows everything and still keep up on our toes about what she knows and doesn’t know.
Before anyone comes for me, there are about 30 other scenes that are equally my favourite, like Lilia’s entire episode 7. There’s just so much to choose from and it was all so fantastic.
TLDR; I Fudging loved this series, more than anything and I cannot stress enough how incredible of an experience this has been for me personally.
