I tracked every alcoholic drink for almost 5 years and compared it with my Apple Health data. Hangovers are worse than I thought.
Just for the background, I like to stay in control of my alcohol consumption and, side-eyeing the biohacking world, that’s why I track every drink. And I am also a bit of a data nerd (working in software), just so you know. So it’s my data tracked with an iOS alcohol tracker & analyzer app.
Two things I found interesting with my data. Resting heart rate and HRV look like a ladder, apparently every other drink makes a bigger difference. In contrast, respiratory rate and REM sleep seem to have a huge shift above 8 drinks. Maybe some doctors or scientist here, have an explanation?
**For me that’s something I think about when friends ask me for one last drink before going home because it could cost me 30 minutes of sleep.**
And for obvious reasons the drink segments have less data the higher the numbers are, I dont have 10 drinks every Friday night 😂
