Let's move to the given situations and my response,

THE ANCHOR
One major financial decision I made in 2018 and it was taking a loan from a commercial bank to support family responsibilities instead of investing or saving that money. The amount wasn’t small for me, and the urgency of the situation made it feel like there was no real choice , that’s what made it my “anchor.”

THE DRIFT
It was a five year repayment plan with countable interest and This decision affected my ability to save consistently for five years. A portion of my income was already committed, so it limited flexibility for investing or trying something new.
Mindset.
It made me more cautious with money. Sometimes even good opportunities feel risky because I don’t want to repeat financial pressure.
Opportunities lost.
I had passed on chances like starting a small side business or learning a paid skill because I didn’t feel financially secure enough.
Unforeseen benefits.
At the same time, it taught me discipline and responsibility. I became more aware of budgeting, priorities, and the real value of money.

CUTTING LOOSE (MOVING FORWARD)
To move forward, I did,
Adjusted the structure , Look into better repayment options or reorganizing my budget so I can free up even a small amount for savings.
Shift mindset.
Instead of thinking “that mistake set me back,” I looked it as “this experience trained me.”
Take one small step this month,
Although the current middle east conflict and gasoline prices made life tough but still Start a simple habit like saving even a small fixed amount weekly or tracking every expense for clarity.
