As the first rays of dawn spilled across the quiet village, the townsfolk gathered beneath the cold morning air, their faces heavy with unease. Nothing disastrous had occurred during the night, yet many had been kept awake by the distant, haunting howls of what sounded unmistakably like a wolf lurking beyond the treeline.
Their growing uneasiness turned to fear when they noticed a freshly pinned notice upon the village bulletin board.
A werewolf has been sighted.
The village trackers and hunters were convinced the beast had passed through the village under the cover of darkness. Worse still, the announcement warned that some villagers may already have been corrupted by the creature’s curse, unknowingly transformed into werewolves themselves.
At the bottom of the notice, written in bold letters, was a final warning:
Be vigilant.

Amid the growing unrest, the King Villager—carefully blending in with the crowd—chose restraint over recklessness. Exiling someone without proof would only play into the werewolf’s hands.
