Was rewatching what if...? Seson 3 episode 3 and was confused
So in episode 3 of seson 3 of what if..?, (What If... The Red Guardian Stopped the Winter Soldier?) At the end, when the person is reading out the code words, bucky is unaffected and I don't really get why. I've seen some people say that it's becuse he has been out of the ice/not controled or wiped for a while, but aren't the code word like a reset or trigger? And during civil war bucky was away from hydra and the controle for like 2 years or somthing (a much longer time than in the what if episode) and he still was controled by the words. Is it just 'the power of friendship' or somthing? I feel like had the same if not more reson to fight it in civil war! Any explanations or theories are welcomed!
