So I have a costume I’d like to make: female knight armor. I know most cosplayers use foam, but I have the audacity to think I’d like to use metal. Would I be able to use thin aluminum sheets for the armor? Thoughts? It’s not an entire set. Just really shoulder and hip pads.
My basic plan is
1) make mock-up w brown paper bags for the pattern
2) cut the metal into the outline I need
3) bend / hammer into shape/curves
4) go in with smaller tools to hammer in designs
I don’t think I’d need any soldering, I’ve made jewelry before with blowtorch/soldering so i would be okay with doing it if needed but I don’t think my plan needs that. I honestly hate the idea of using foam and would love the opportunity to at least try this. #industry source
