Removing casting sprues mechanically?

I'm working on making some pendant jewellery and as most of you will know the casting process leaves sprues that I have been filing by hand with mixed results. I find it exceptionally frustrating as it's incredibly difficult and time consuming to blend the curve as it's never as clean as the rest of the curved edge.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for making this easier than using a hand file? My only thoughts so far are using a CNC machine or using some kind of rotary tool and a jig. Do people make custom rotary bits or am I way overthinking this?

Any suggestions much appreciated!
