ELI5: What is a "Runtime Exception"
I'm sure anyone who has worked with computers enough has had a program crash with an error message reading "Runtime Exception." In the back of my mind I just assumed it was something like "something *exception*al happened that made something *run* for the wrong amount of *time*," but then I realized I have no idea how that would actually work or cause a crash.
Looking it up makes it seem like it might be complicated and possibly mean a lot of different things, so apologies if this isn't something that is able to be explained easily.
