I have noticed that in recent years fewer water lilies have bloomed, and the leaves do not need to be thinned. I do not know what the reason could be, I will ask Chat GPT.
Now there is only one yellow water lily in the garden pond, but it is beautiful.

I read that they had been in the pond for too long, they had run out of nutrients, and maybe the 4-5 hours of sunlight a day were not enough.
They should be given a nutrient ball, or the roots should be refreshed.
