YSK: you can have an infected tooth that doesn’t hurt, and that infected tooth can kill you
Why YSK: Just happened to me (not the death part lol thank god). I had a little niggle of pain two days before a pre scheduled dentist appointment. They took an xray and half the tooth was rotted out, and I had an infection that was close to going to my brain! It is totally possible to get a septic infection before you even know something is up.
I usually see the dentist every 6 months but had delayed this time. It’s very important to get to the dentist if you can. X-rays once a year or so will catch this stuff sooner.
If you can’t afford it (this has been me in the past), my dentist told me that diet is number 1. He had a guy come in last week that hadn’t seen a dentist in 5 years but had brushed, flossed, and eaten well with very little sugar. He had zero issues.

A little niggle and then half the tooth is already gone. That quiet stretch is the part that sticks. Once they saw the xray, did they start antibiotics the same day, or was it straight into treatment?
