For Greater Glory: The True Story of Cristiada (2012): What Great Christian War Movie Should Be!
Wow, just wow! I am blown away! Not only is this already a period movie, it's also very inspiring and heart-tugging! Whoa! I love it! Everything in this film are what all the other Christian and/or war movies are missing: It's got drama, action, suspense, family, love, villains, religion plus heroism all rolled into one! Even the music is good. Everything is commendable despite not having any computerized special effects, dragons, sex, magic spells or whatever.
The movie may have had a slow start but it's really gripping as soon as it starts rolling! The characters are quite relatable because of the way the story was told and how the actors did a good job! Yes it has violence, it has evil people, it even has plenty of murder but still it's very entertaining! Also you will feel inspired to be like them, fighting for freedom, becoming a war hero. Viva Cristo Rey indeed!
It is not easy to stand up for what you believe in, especially when faced with death because of Catholicism. You'd think giving up on God would be a wise decision but for martyrs, it is better to die than to live with such a dirt in your conscience. Imagine what St. Peter must have gone through for denying Jesus 3x!!! Oh my Lord help us be strong against everyday temptation!
I can say this is one of the best true to life movies ever made. I give this movie a perfect 10! 1000% better than any other modern action movie out there. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. Or if you already watched it, care to share your thoughts too?
