The one love rule I truly follow is to always be honest in a relationship. I believe honesty builds trust, and trust is the strongest foundation of any relationship. No matter how difficult a situation becomes, speaking the truth with kindness can solve many misunderstandings. I once had a misunderstanding with a very close friend, and for a few days we stopped talking to each other. Instead of hiding my feelings or pretending everything was fine, I openly explained my side honestly and calmly. That honest conversation helped us understand each other better, and our bond became even stronger than before. Since then, I have believed that honesty may hurt for a moment, but lies damage relationships for a lifetime.

I used to believe in the rule, “If they don’t text first, you shouldn’t either.” I thought making the first move would make me look weak or less important. But over time, I realized that ego ruins many beautiful relationships. Sometimes people are busy, stressed, shy, or simply waiting for the other person to reach out first. I changed my mind after reconnecting with someone through a simple message after a long misunderstanding. That one small step removed distance and brought back comfort between us. Now I believe communication matters more than unnecessary pride.
