My Ideal Budget: How I Manage My Income

I’m a Solo Budgeter, but my situation is a little different because I don’t have a permanent job or a fixed income. I don’t have a regular paycheck coming every two weeks, so whenever I have money coming in, I really have to budget it carefully. I make sure that the needs of my children and food come first before anything else. I’ve learned to be very practical with money because I never know exactly when the next income will come.

Needs & Everyday Expenses 50%
Food, electricity, water, mobile data or load that I buy through GCash, transportation, and other things we really need every day.

Savings & Crypto Investments 20%
Whenever I have extra money, I try to save a portion and also invest a little in crypto. I buy tokens little by little, hoping they can grow over time and give me an extra source of income. I don’t put everything into crypto because my priorities still come first.

Children & Responsibilities 15%
I always make sure there is something available for my children’s needs, school expenses, and other important things that may come up.

Personal Wants 10%
I also leave a little for myself. Sometimes it’s just coffee, a small treat, or something simple that makes me happy.

Emergency Money 5%
I try to keep a small amount untouched for unexpected expenses because emergencies can happen anytime.

My simple rule is needs first, wants later, and always think about tomorrow. Since I don’t have a fixed income, I have to adjust my budget depending on what I earn. When something unexpected happens, I cut back on the things that can wait and focus on what is really necessary.

My best money saving tip is simple: think before you spend. If I really need it, then I buy it. If it can wait, I let it wait. I’ve learned that even small savings can make a difference when you don’t have a regular paycheck.

For me, budgeting is not about having a lot of money. It’s about making the most of whatever I have, taking care of my children first, and trying to build a little extra income for the future.
