#earn activity

That feeling is real. And it runs deep for a lot of people.

The Moment:
I remember being around 11, sitting at the kitchen table while my parents argued in the next room. My little siblings were scared, so I distracted them with homework and cartoons, pretending everything was fine. Later that night, one parent came to me to vent about money problems and relationship stress. I nodded like a tiny therapist, even though I barely understood what bills actually meant.

How It Felt:
My chest always felt tight, like I had to stay strong or everything would fall apart. I acted “mature for my age,” but inside I was anxious and hyper-alert. I didn’t feel like a kid I felt responsible. Like if I relaxed, something bad would happen.

Impact Now:
As an adult, I struggle with over-responsibility. I feel guilty resting. I automatically try to fix everyone’s problems. I attract people who need saving, and I have to fight the urge to over-give. Burnout comes fast because I still believe my worth is tied to how much I hold together.

One Takeaway:
Being strong too early doesn’t mean I have to be strong forever. Now I set boundaries especially around emotional labor. I remind myself: I am allowed to be supported too.
