Interactive Visualization of the Central Park Squirrel…

Interactive Visualization of the Central Park Squirrel Census

I analyzed the 2018 Central Park Squirrel Census data to visualize population density and color distribution across the park.

* **Data Source**: NYC Open Data / Central Park Squirrel Census
* **Tools Used**: Python (Pandas for cleaning, Plotly/Folium for interactive mapping)
* **Live Project**: View Interactive Charts Here
* **Source Code**: GitHub Repository

*The map clearly shows that while squirrels are everywhere, the Gray population (purple) is significantly denser in the lower half of the park, likely due to higher foot traffic and food availability*

**Fun Fact:** My map shows that Black squirrels (yellow points) are the rarest residents of Central Park—representing only a tiny fraction of the thousands of squirrels I mapped!
