Bad Boys isn’t the same without Michael Bay
Yeah, yeah, I’m not saying these two films are terrible. Smith and Lawrence make it watchable, but man…. They aren’t the same level of insanity and balls-to-the-walls cocaine chaoticness. And seeing 6 Underground and Ambulance, he hasn’t lost this touch. Especially after Ambulance, I only wish he’d done one last Bad Boys to cap up the trilogy with the manic and direction of that film. These new films feel a little tame compared to what Bay did.
I guess Joe Carnahan would have been the closest to capture Bayhem (he was the original director of Bad Boys 3) based on of Smokin’ Aces. But I think Michael Bay today would have made something wild if the scale was anywhere close to Six Underground alone.
