I have around $15k to do shop upgrades and im looking for ideas. Currently I have a 2000sqft shop that I build random things to sell on facebook or just work on something someone brings me occasionally. This is not how I pay my bills but I do make some money on the side as a fun hobby. Im kind of torn on what I should get as my next upgrades. Currently my shop has
* Recently remodeled with new insulation and full HVAC and fume extraction * 4.5x8.5 fixture table from Fireball tools and around $2000 worth the fixtures (definitely could use more but what I have works and I buy more as needed) * A 90 cut station and a 45 cut station as well as an oddball angle cut station * Standing belt grinder * Lots of hand tools / drills / grinders/ etc * 2 mig welders (one stationary, 1 on a cart) * Plasma cutter * 16x4 misc workbench * Variety of welding hoods including a PAPR * Mag drill * shitty drill press * Metal circular saw
Im kind of running out of ideas for useful shop stuff. I was going to get a mill/drill but then I bought a mag drill and that solved that problem, though a nicer and more powerful drill press would be nice.
My workflow is pretty easy and straightforward, most things have their own station or an easily converted station to do a task that I dont do often.
I have a budget of 15-20k a year for the shop. Im definitely a novice compared to a lot of guys skill and knowledge but im always evolving and making more complex things.
**With the information given, can you guys see anything that is missing from my shop that you guys with more experience can point at and go "oh yeah, -that- is super useful and missing from his shop"** #industry source
Wow! I must say you have a one stop shop. if you're doing this for fun then you must be a very talented man. You can add a CNC and a conventional lathe for workpiece that requires precise measurement.
