I love Drax in the MCU, but I just reread “Annihilation” after several years and I totally understand people’s complaints about his MCU portrayal.
I really adore the unique character of Drax in the GOTG movies, but it’d been several years since I had read Marvel’s “Annihilation” event comics. I just read them again recently and I have to say - I absolutely understand the complaints about Drax’ character in the MCU.
I’m not saying that MCU Drax’ personality and character type shouldn’t exist, cause I love it. But I see why people wish it would have been applied to a different character.
Drax in Annihilation is an absolute force of nature, and a lynchpin to the story as a whole. I know adaptations are going to take their creative liberties, but having read it after so many years really made me wish wider audiences could have been introduced to the comic version of Drax.
