1. How do you treat LGBTQIA / these kind of individuals as a concerned citizen?
As a concerned and compassionate individual, I believe that every person, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, deserves to be treated with dignity, equality, and genuine human respect. This belief guides how I interact with members of the LGBTQIA community and with all people in general. I strive to create an environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and accepted. That means actively listening to their stories, honoring their preferred pronouns, and standing up whenever I witness discrimination, prejudice, or hate speech. To treat LGBTQIA individuals as a responsible citizen is to acknowledge and defend their full rights as members of society, because equality is not a privilege, it’s a fundamental human right.
As Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization.” This reminds me that respecting others, especially those who are different from us, is not just an act of kindness, it’s a measure of our humanity.
2. How would you educate yourself on accepting their beliefs as who they are, which is far different from yours?
My approach to education is rooted in empathy and the desire to understand rather than judge beliefs or identities that differ from my own. I make a conscious effort to learn from credible sources and community voices about the distinctions between sex (biological), gender (social identity or role), and attraction (sexual or romantic orientation). For me, the real shift happens when I move from feeling the need to accept their beliefs to simply accepting their humanity and lived reality.
I immerse myself in literature, listen to personal stories, and follow organizations and individuals who authentically represent the LGBTQIA community. These experiences open my heart and mind, allowing me to move beyond mere tolerance and toward genuine affirmation and respect.
Harper Lee wisely wrote To Kill a Mockingbird, “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” True understanding begins when we choose empathy over judgment and curiosity over fear.
3. Should the same sexes be allowed to enter a Matrimonial Ceremony? Yes or No, explain uniquely and logically.
Yes. In a modern and inclusive society, the true purpose of a matrimonial ceremony, or marriage, is not limited to tradition or religion, but rather to the legal and social recognition of a couple’s partnership. Marriage carries with it over a thousand rights and responsibilities, including inheritance, hospital visitation, medical decision-making, taxation, and shared property. When these rights are granted only to heterosexual couples, society effectively creates an unjust system where equality depends on gender, something that contradicts the very foundation of human rights.
Allowing same sex couples to marry is not about redefining marriage; it’s about reaffirming its core values, love, commitment, and mutual responsibility. It acknowledges that every individual, regardless of sexual orientation, deserves the same legal protections and dignity that come with forming a family. Love, after all, is not measured by anatomy but by authenticity and care.
As former U. S. President Barack Obama once said, “If we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.” This quote beautifully captures the essence of marriage equality, recognizing that love and commitment, not gender, are what make a union worthy of respect and protection.
4. Are they morally wrong because they are physically men and women but different applications emotionally, or just passion?
They are absolutely not morally wrong. To claim that someone’s identity or emotional expression is immoral, simply because it differs from traditional norms is to cling to outdated beliefs rather than embrace genuine understanding. Gender identity , how a person experiences themselves internally, and sexual orientation, who they are emotionally or romantically drawn to, are both natural and deeply human aspects of existence. These are not choices or trends, they are reflections of authenticity.
Condemning someone for living truthfully is not a moral stance, it’s a misunderstanding of human diversity. Each individual’s journey toward self-acceptance and love is a courageous act, not a moral failure. Recognizing this truth allows us to replace judgment with compassion and prejudice with respect.
