Q1- Before today, how aware were you of Islamophobia in everyday life, and what do you think people misunderstand most about Islam or Muslims?
Before today I already heard about Islamophobia but I did not know many details about it. I mostly see it on social media where sometimes people say negative things about Muslims or Islam without understanding the religion. I think the biggest misunderstanding is that some people think Islam teaches violence, but in reality Islam teaches peace, kindness and respect for others. Many Muslims are normal people who just want to live peacefully and follow their faith.
Q2- Have you ever witnessed or experienced a moment of Islamophobia, online or in real life? How do you think people should respond when they see it happening?
I personally did not experience it directly in real life, but I have seen such comments online where people make jokes or negative statements about Muslims. I feel this happens mostly because of lack of knowledge. When someone sees this happening, the best response is to stay calm and explain the truth politely instead of fighting. Education and respectful conversation can help people understand each other better.
Q3- What is one small action individuals or communities can take to reduce Islamophobia and promote respect between different cultures and religions?
One small action people can take is to learn about other religions and cultures instead of believing rumors or stereotypes. When people understand each other, respect grows naturally. Also treating everyone with kindness and respect, no matter what religion they follow, can make society more peaceful.
