Prior to Cars 2 , Pixar seemed to release nothing but hits, but for Cars 2 and since, it seems like the movies have been a lot more hit or miss. Is there a particular reason why the magic died?
Pre cars 2 movies were (in order) :
Toy Story - A Bug's Life - Toy Story 2 - Monster's Inc - Finding Nemo - The Incredibles - Cars - Ratatouille
WALL-E - Up - Toy Story 3
Then we had:
Cars 2 - Brave - Monster's University - Inside Out - The Good Dinosaur - Cars 3 - Coco - Incredibles 2
Toy Story 4 - Onward - Soul - Luca - Turning Red - Lightyear - Elemental

I don't necessarily think that these movies are bad, they all have solid quality, but they certainly feel a step down both in terms of creativity and writing quality. Was there some sort of leadership change at Pixar in 2011? Is it just me being biased since I was a kid when those first movies came out? What gives?
