More people need to complain about issues with rowdy people
Went camping with my family at a state park. They're strict on quiet hours and have signs all over saying to call with any issues and not wait till morning.
We had a loud college group near us, drinking shouting and cursing. I probably could have complained before quiet hours. We waited til they started. There was no sign they were slowing down. So we called.
The ranger told them they had to turn off the music and talk quietly. That lasted 15 minutes, so we called again. This time they were quiet until midnight when the music and shouting started up. The ranger read them the riot act and they were quiet.
But what got me is we were behind them, they had people on all other sides and no one seemed to be complaining but us. Do people just not want to deal with it? Do they think they're being a Karen? i get not wanting to confront them- I wasn't about to get into it with a group of drunk college guys while my kids were there. but the rangers are ready to do it.
I think this behavior happens because it's so rare there are consequences. I heard them arguing with the ranger and couldn't believe someone called on them. #activity #camping source
