In 2001, Disney acquired the Fox Family Worldwide franchise of libraries and assets, which includes properties from Saban Entertainment such as Power Rangers and Digimon, as well as other properties like Marvel Comics (eight years prior to the company’s acquisition of Marvel in 2009) such as the X-Men: The Animated Series.
In 2004, Disney launched a new boy-focused action/adventure programming block called Jetix in the United States, replacing the ABC Family Action Block, while airing mornings on ABC Family and evenings on Toon Disney. Two years later, ABC Family discounted the Jetix block and moved exclusively on Toon Disney until 2009, when Jetix merged with Toon Disney to form Disney. #video #movies
