Captain Marvel doesn’t deserve the hate that it gets
This is easily the most overhated MCU film.
Sure, the movie isn’t perfect. The villain is kinda bland, the explanation for how Fury lost his eye is dumb, and the 1995 setting leads to some questions and plot holes. But the fact that so many people consider this to be one of the worst (if not the worst) MCU films ever made feels like a complete exaggeration in my opinion. I wouldn’t even put it in the top 10 worst MCU films.
Once you look past the issues that I just mentioned, the movie is actually decent. It’s got fun moments, the relationship between Carol and Nick Fury is very interesting and they have very strong chemistry, the cast is good, the action scenes and CGI were well done, Goose is a major highlight, and, most importantly, the movie is entertaining.
Part of me wonders if people hate this movie simply because they’re still pissed about some comments that Brie Larson made during the press tour leading up to film’s release.
