Instead of making crappy remakes of well-liked films, they should make remakes of unpopular movies which had a good premise, and fell short of that potential. What examples of this would you like to see?
I think Eragon, The Golden Compass, Ender's Game and The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy were very disappointing movies, considering that they were based on very good books. They were each the beginning of a series of very engaging stories, and maybe if the film adaptations had been better written and better coordinated, we could have had an exciting swathe of blockbusters. This is, of course, happening with the Dune series. The 1984 movie was disappointing, but the 2021 movie completely revitalised public enthusiasm for the franchise. No matter how bad a film adaptation may be, the damage is reparable. #movies #video
