ELI5 How does Uniqlo’s self-checkout know exactly which clothes I’m buying?
I saw a video where they just place all the clothes in a basket, and within a second the machine identifies every item and calculates the total.
Is there some kind of hidden chip inside the tags, or a special barcode? They just look like normal paper tags to me, so I can’t figure out how the machine knows what’s in the basket without scanning each item individually. Can someone please explain?
