It's a tough pill to swallow when someone important to us moves on, whether it's a friend moving away, a colleague starting a new job, or even a relationship ending. It's totally normal to feel a mix of sadness, confusion, and maybe even a little bit of relief. These moments can be super challenging because they shake up our routines and our sense of connection.

The truth is, saying goodbye is a big part of life. Learning how to handle these transitions gracefully can actually help us grow stronger and more resilient. It’s about acknowledging our feelings, honoring the connection we had, and finding ways to move forward without forgetting the good times. Think of it as learning a new skill – the more we practice understanding and managing these feelings, the better we get at handling them when they pop up.

TASK
Let's talk about how we navigate these departures. Think about a time someone left your life, or someone you know is facing a departure.
1. Share a Departure Story: Briefly describe a situation where someone left. What was the context? (e.g., friend moved, breakup, job change).
2. How Did You Feel? What were the main emotions you experienced? Try to be specific. Were you sad, angry, lost, relieved, a mix of everything?
3. What Helped (or Didn't Help)? What actions, thoughts, or support systems made it easier for you to cope? What didn't work out so well?
4. A Tip for Others: Based on your experience, what's one piece of advice you'd give to someone else going through a similar situation?

ATTACHMENT: Open Door Photo
Take a photo of an open door. It could be your front door, a garden gate, or even a metaphorical door like an open window or a path leading away.

Caption: ( As text overlay to your door photo )
Write a short caption that relates to the photo and your experience with someone leaving. For example:
"This open door reminds me that even though you left, new paths can open up for both of us.”
"An open door signifies new beginnings, even when it's hard to see them. Remembering the good times and looking ahead.”

Thank you all for participating in the #DealingWithLeaving activity. It takes courage to share our stories and emotions, especially when it comes to farewells that can be so challenging.

As we wrap up this activity, remember that every goodbye can lead to new beginnings. Embrace the lessons learned, cherish the memories, and keep that door open for new opportunities and connections in the future. Thank you for sharing your journeys with me!

Rewards have been sent to eligible entries. While the capped entries were set at 10, I received 11 submissions. Unfortunately, 1 entry was disqualified for commenting a link to their post. Please note that I won’t read links if it’s just a comment activity and I will only entertain the first entry.

As a result, the reward intended for the disqualified participant was given to the 11th submission, with the same rules applied. Out of these entries, only 4 followed the rules perfectly and submitted outstanding work. They will equally share 50% of the 370k MLX, which amounts to 185k MLX, derived from deductions made for rule violations (including failure to follow attachment guidelines, copying examples/incomplete thoughts, and not including the required phrase). Each of these participants will receive 46,250 MLX: and .

The remaining 50% (185k MLX) will be split equally among the standout entries, with each receiving 37k MLX: and ( who made a minor mistake by forgetting to include the required phrase ).

1️⃣. Departure Story
A friend I was really close to moved away for a new chapter in their life, and suddenly our everyday connection just… stopped.

2️⃣. How Did You Feel?
I felt quietly sad, a little lost, and honestly a bit left behind—but also genuinely happy for them.

3️⃣. What Helped (or Didn’t Help)?
What helped was accepting the change instead of resisting it and keeping small connections alive.
What didn’t help was holding onto how things used to be.

4️⃣. A Tip for Others
Let people go with love, not fear. What’s real won’t disappear—it just changes form.

#DealingWithLeaving        “Door to Door”

1. Share a Departure Story:
My daughter got married and moved to another country with her husband. It was an emotional change because she was starting a new life far from home, and our daily family routine changed completely.
2. How Did You Feel?
I felt a mix of emotions. I was proud and happy for her, but also sad and a bit empty at home without her. It took time to adjust to her not being around every day, along with some worry, but mostly it was love, pride, and acceptance.
3. What Helped (or Didn’t Help)?
Staying connected through calls and messages helped me a lot, especially knowing she was happy and safe. Keeping busy with family and daily routines also made things easier. What didn’t help was overthinking the distance, which made the sadness feel stronger.
4. A Tip for Others
It helps to see this kind of departure not as an ending, but as a new stage in the relationship. Staying connected while accepting change makes it easier, and focusing on pride in your loved one’s new journey can help ease the separation.

Let's start with questions of the activity.
1. Departure Story
It was back in 1998 when someone very close to me walked away. The reason was simple but painful , I was from a village, and that difference became a wall between us. What once felt like a strong bond suddenly ended, not because of lack of feelings, but because of perception.

2. How Did I Feel?
At that time, I felt deeply hurt and rejected. There was sadness, of course but also confusion and a quiet sense of anger. I kept wondering, was I not enough? Over time, those emotions slowly turned into acceptance and inner strength.

3. What Helped (or Didn’t Help)?
What helped me most was time and self-reflection. Instead of chasing someone who had already made a choice, I focused on building myself. I learned to value who I am and where I come from.
What didn’t help was overthinking the “why” for too long and it only kept the wound fresh.

4. A Tip for Others
Well , I heard and People often say love is blind but I would say, keep your eyes open. Know your worth first. Don’t lose yourself trying to hold onto someone who doesn’t see your value. The right people won’t leave because of where you come from.

"Door to Door"
1. Share a Departure Story:
In my life, I have faced many moments where my loved ones left me forever. But the most painful time was when my parents passed away within a year. We found out just two months before my mother’s death that she had last-stage cancer and very little time left. That period was extremely painful because every day we were watching our mother slowly slipping away from us. Despite all our efforts to get her treated, it was too late, and she left us forever.
After my mother’s death, my father’s health started declining, and within a year, he also passed away. Losing both parents so close together made us siblings feel completely alone in this world.
2. How Did You Feel?
I felt completely broken, lost, and empty. It felt like my whole world had ended. I kept thinking about how we would live without them and what we would do next. There was deep sadness, helplessness, and emotional pain that is hard to describe.
3. What Helped (or Didn’t Help)?
Time was the biggest healer. Slowly, it taught us how to live with this pain. The support of siblings helped a little, but people’s sympathy sometimes made it more painful, constantly reminding us that we were now without parents.
4. A Tip for Others:
My advice is to my friend bina stay strong and patient. Time may not erase the pain, but it teaches you how to live with it. Always value your loved ones while they are with you, because once they are gone, only memories remain.

1.Share a Departure Story:
One of my close friends left my life. We used to talk every day and share everything. But slowly, he stopped talking to me and then one day, he just disappeared from my life without any clear reason. It felt like I lost an important part of my daily life.

2. How Did You Feel?
I felt very sad and confused. I also felt lonely because I had no one to share my feelings with. Sometimes I felt angry, thinking why he left without explaining. It was a mix of sadness, pain, and emptiness.

3. What Helped (or Didn't Help)?
Honestly, there was no supporter in that situation. I had to handle everything alone. What helped a little was giving myself time and staying busy with my work. Thinking too much did not help—it made me feel worse.

4. A Tip for Others:
My advice is: don’t depend too much on one person. Life changes, and people can leave. Stay strong, believe in yourself, and try to keep your heart open but not fully dependent on anyone. Time will slowly heal everything.

1. Departure Story:
9 May 2024 was a very painful day for me when my mother left this world and left us behind.
2. How I Felt:
I felt like life had no purpose. The pain of that day is still deeply felt in my heart.
3. What Helped / Didn’t Help:
My sisters, brothers, and father supported me a lot. However, other relatives were busy eating and talking about their own preferences like “this breakfast should be like this, that should be like that,” which was very painful for me.
4. Advice for Others:
My advice is that in this world, no one is more loyal than parents. Those whose parents are still alive should value them deeply.

Sometimes, when someone important leaves our life, everything feels different and unfamiliar. I also experienced this when a close friend of mine moved away. We used to talk every day and share almost everything, so suddenly losing that presence felt very heavy.
At that time, I went through mixed emotions — sadness, loneliness, and confusion. It felt like a part of my daily routine had quietly disappeared, leaving a space that was hard to understand at first.
With time, I learned that distance does not always end relationships; it only changes the way they exist. True connections don’t fully disappear — they transform into memories that stay with us.
What helped me most was keeping myself busy, focusing on new goals, and accepting that change is a natural part of life. What didn’t help was overthinking and repeatedly reliving old memories, which only slowed down healing.
My advice to anyone going through this is: don’t let the past hold you back. Value the memories, appreciate the moments, but also allow yourself to move forward — because every ending quietly opens the door to a new beginning.

"Door to Door"
1. Share A Departure Story
There was a time when someone close to me had to leave because of work opportunities abroad (New Zealand). We used to talk almost everyday, but slowly things changed. When distance came in. It wasn't a sudden goodbye, but more of a quiet drifting apart.

2. How did you feel?
I felt a mix of sadness and confusion. At first, i didn't want to accept it, but eventually I realized that not all connections are meant to stay the same forever.

3. What helped (or didn't help)
What helped me was accepting the situation and focusing on my own growth. Keeping myself busy and talking other friends made things easier. What didn't help was overthinking and holding on too tightly.

4. A tip for others
Sometimes letting go is part of growing. It's okay to feel sad, but don't forget that new beginning often comes after endings.

Door to Door

1. The story of departure:
My father-in-law's death was the most difficult time of my life. Wu Serf was not my father, but my strength and guide. His sudden departure completely changed my world

2. How did you feel:
I was broken inside. Shock, pain, and silence - all felt at once. It seemed that nothing would be the same again.

3. What helped:
The support of family and remembering their words gave me courage. Gradually, I realized that their teachings were with me, and I had to stay strong.

4. Advice for others:
Appreciate your loved ones while they were still there. And when they are gone, make their memories your strength, not your weakness

1. Departure story:
My best friend suddenly shifted to another city with his family. We meet every day, share everything, one day everything changed. His departure took away both my routine and my happiness

2. How did you feel:
I felt very sad. It felt like a part of my life was missing. Sometimes the loneliness was so much that I wanted to cry, but there was also a little relief that he was leaving for a better life.

3. What helped:
Not time, but the most help. I kept myself busy and talked to him on calls and messages. But his work was still felt.

If someone leaves your life, you should not hold it back. True friendship does not end with distance, it just changes a little.

“Door to Door”

Someone had a close friendship that slowly faded after one person moved away for studies. At first, they promised to stay in touch, but over time messages became shorter, calls stopped, and eventually the connection just… disappeared without a clear goodbye.

“You walked out… and this door never felt the same again.”

It wasn’t just sadness—it was a mix:
A quiet kind of grief, like something unfinished
Confusion (“Did I do something wrong?”)
Loneliness, especially during moments they used to share
And eventually, a bit of acceptance… but it took time

Helped:

Talking to someone who listened without judging
Writing thoughts down instead of keeping them inside
Accepting that not all relationships are meant to last forever

Didn’t help:

Overthinking every past conversation
Blaming themselves for things they couldn’t control
Waiting too long for closure that never came.
Not every goodbye is loud or clear. Sometimes people leave quietly—and that’s still a real loss.

👉 Don’t wait for closure from others; sometimes you have to give it to yourself.
