Tires for 1986 Honda Shadow VT700C

I recently purchased my very first motorcycle ever (huzzah!) and among other things, it needs a new set of tires. I likely wont be traveling long distances yet and hope to not be riding in rain/inclement weather often. I’ve been looking at my options and have narrowed my search down to the three styles listed below, mostly due to availability.

Shinko 712

Dunlop D404

Michelin Commander III

Here are my findings based on the research I’ve done so far:

The Shinkos have a much lower price point and have decent reviews, but I’ve also read they tend to wear out much quicker than other brands so the value versus cost might skew in the ‘not worth the savings’ direction.

Reviews on the Dunlops are hit or miss, but good overall. They are a pretty reasonable price and a more well known brand. My dad also *typically* buys Dunlops for his motorcycles.

The Michelins have the best reviews but the price point is well above that of the other two I’m considering. My dad currently has a set of Michelins on his Gold Wing and says they handle great and road noise levels are lower than other tires he’s used in the past.

The main factors I’m considering are as follows.

New rider friendly

Longevity/Reliability

Value versus cost

All that said, would you recommend?
