YSK: You can use a desktop app to boost the sound for Microsoft teams voice/video calls
Why YSK: You can fix the audibility issues for Microsoft teams using this open source tool
A few weeks ago a new intern joined our team at the startup I work at, despite having a good functioning hardware I was having trouble hearing his voice over video and voice calls, supposedly I was the only one who was having issues with only his audio. Tons of trouble shooting led to no avail but then I came across this open source application, FXSound. There are plenty of preset configurations you can use, I personally run the Voice preset as I found it was very effective for calls.
Also, their tool can be used for general use and is not just limited to Microsoft teams alone. The sound quality isn't bad and is retained for the most part, experience might differ based on different devices
Once the application is installed, you need to select the Fx sound option in the device output section on Microsoft teams when a call is active. You can do this by navigating to Settings > Devices > Speaker > Choose " FxSound Audio enhancer " from the drop down
⚠️ Warning: Once you have selected FxSound for the speaker, you have to keep FxSound application running in the background otherwise you won't be able to hear anything from teams meeting.
I am not affiliated with team in any way, I just thought that a tool as amazing as this deserved more attention.
