Crashed in a turn and I am very very dissapointed

I crashed today. I misjudged a corner and made a mistake. Instead of applying more countersteering, I went for the front brake. I don't know why, but I intuitively decided that I couldn't afford any more lean angle and chose to slow down instead, thinking that would give me more time to make the turn. Unfortunately, I didn't compensate for the bike starting to stand itself up under braking, and I ended up going off the road.

I rode through the dirt for about 6 meters and at one point I was already thinking, "holy shit, that was close"... and then I buried the front wheel into a mound of dirt because I'm an idiot and was using the front brake in the ditch instead of the rear.

I'm a beginner. I've only been riding for 2 months, but I've already put about 6,000 km on the bike (I had an unemployment era where I could basically spend entire days riding). Riding had started to feel automatic, and I think I got a little too confident. I'd had a few situations before where a corner tightened up more than I expected, and I'd always managed to adjust my line without any trouble. I guess that made me a little too confident that I'd be able to handle it every time. Today proved otherwise.

The bike mostly has cosmetic damage. The crash bars did a perfect job protecting the tank, engine, and generally the whole front of the bike, and my rear bag sacrificed itself to save the rear. The only actual damage is a badly scraped clutch lever, a slightly scraped left turn signal, a scratched plastic cowl, and scratched crash bars (which is what they're there for, thankfully). It also looks like the front end might have gotten slightly twisted in the triple clamps from the fall.

I've got a pretty badly bruised shoulder and a bit of a bruised hip. Thankfully I was wearing proper gear, and I think the shoulder protector did a good job of spreading out some of the impact. Surprisingly, there isn't even the slightest mark on my jacket or pants.

I feel like a total doofus. I thought I'd already gotten fairly comfortable on the bike and was getting pretty decent at riding... and then I go and make mistakes that I KNOW are mistakes, and I don't even understand why I reacted the way I did.

Overall, it turned out pretty well. Neither me nor the bike has any serious damage, and if anything, I feel like this gave me back a healthy amount of respect for riding. I'm just really bothered by the fact that I crashed after only 2 months of riding, like I'm some overexcited squid who doesn't take riding seriously. It just feels bad and I feel embarrassed.
